Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations. Teaching and learning of Probability. Afroethnomathematics. Igba-Ita. Law 10639/03.
This research investigated a didactic proposal through the African game Igba-Ita on probabilistic notions with students of the 1st year of high school in a perspective of Ethnic-Racial Relations Education (ERER). This study has as theoretical framework the precepts of Afroethnomathematics, and the guidelines proposed in law 10.639/03, articulated in order to guarantee an Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations in the teaching and learning of mathematics. We believe that the game can be used in the classroom, in addition to building probabilistic concepts such as randomness and sample space, it is also an alternative for working with Afro-Brazilian History and Culture, seeking to establish a relationship between Education Probabilistics and the ERER. As one of the main results, this research shows that it is possible to use Mathematics Education as a tool to combat prejudice and racism
