SUMMARY:

This dissertation is centered on resuming propositional actions, deepening and structuring the idea of Cordial Problems, a model for approaching scientific concepts through problem solving in the teaching of Chemistry, considering Education in Human Rights, based on of Cordial Contents. From the consideration of the different views on problem solving in Science teaching and the relationship between reason and emotion, central to the ethics of cordial reason, the foundation of the idea of Cordial Contents, we seek to propose a model of teaching strategy, based on reflections which culminate in a mechanism, with a theoretical and methodological basis, for proposing problems that have as essential characteristics the principles of cordial reason, the human relationship – in addition to the scientific – of the individual with the problem and the establishment of a differentiated attitude, which we call “coping beyond solving”. Thus, we set the objective of evaluating the potential of the Cordials Problems model for building a more humanized Chemistry Teaching, considering the relationship between Science Teaching and Human Rights Education. To this end, based on the Cordial Problems model, we seek to understand the proposition of cordial problems, both adapted from ENEM (National High School Examination) questions and from problems created by us, centered on the principles of cordial reason. , in the central ideas that structure the model, namely: Problem Solving in Science Teaching (Chemistry), Human Rights Education and Friendly Contents. After preparing the Cordial Problems proposals, we carried out a peer validation process, with specific criteria, seeking to evaluate the potential of the model in question for promoting Chemistry Teaching that considers students as active people in the process and who value training in human rights, in a pedagogy of humanization of the content covered. Our results point to the validation of the problems elaborated and, in the view of the teachers participating in the research, they have potential, as a model for thinking about teaching strategies, both for the teaching of Sciences, in particular Chemistry, and for citizenship training, based on reflections arising from Human Rights Education.
