Sensitive pedagogies of memory: paths possible from the meeting with the chilean arpilleras
Arpilleras. Memory. Sensitivities. Imaginary.
This study reflects to what extent it is possible to consider sensitive
pedagogical proposals for remembrance from the affect(o)actions provoked
by the encounter with the Chilean arpilleras. The embroideries produced by
women Arpilleristas during the military dictatorship in Chile are articulated
as testimonies that, in dialogue with the theoretical reflections arising from
studies on sensitivity, memory, experience and imagination, point to thinking
about what we call sensitive pedagogies of memory. The text contains
moments and stops, metaphorical resources that convey the epistemic potency
of (un)walking through the affect(o)actions provoked by the encounter. The
ideas of Benjamin (1987; 2009; 2019), Durand (2012; 2014), Butler (2015;
2018; 2019), Maffesoli (1998; 2014; 2018), Ostrower (2014), Larrosa (2002;
2003; 2014) , Bosi (1979), Deleuze and Guattari (1995), Adorno (2011) and
Josso (2004), above all, guide the cartography. The clues that lead to sensitive
pedagogies of memory suggest sensitivity as a way of approaching the
narratives of the Others, capable of being used as an instrument and source of
knowledge. Specifically, the sensitive and symbolic power contained in
artistic expressions is considered creative, creative and anamnetic potentiality
that favors transmission. Due to the testimonial character they assume, the
arpilleras serve, to these pedagogies, as a demonstration of the
(trans)formative processes that involve remembrance.
