SUMMARY:

In this dissertation, I seek to map the aesthetic and gestural figurations of transsexual artists
through the expression of knowledge, poetics and transgressions that their bodies express and
print. I seek to delineate the ethical-aesthetic and political potency of corpas that occupy
positions of promotion of agencies of their existence. Transvestite artists enter the field of
cisheteronormativity through a continuous movement of deterritorialization and opening to new
reterritorializations, not in a fixed way, but within the construction of multiplicities and lines of
escape that generate rhizomes and significant interpellations of themselves and the world. The
research is about a new look of aesthetic paradigm with political implications because it unlocks
colonialized knowledge and talks about creation, transversality, in movements. I went in search
of a cartography given by affections, union and lines of segmentation that focused on
performativities and recognition of the production of four transsexual/transvestite artists from
the northeastern hinterland. I aimed to map how the aesthetic-gestural figurations of
transsexual/transvestite artists are configured as readings of knowledge, poetics and
transgression. The immersion in the theoretical-methodological experience and in cartographic
processes made me consider arrangements in which I could problematize the construction of
the aesthetic path of transsexual/transvestite artists' corporeality and their knowledge. In the
same way, cartography led me to think about the transgressive power of these bodies through
the art they developed based on their poetic dimension. And, I got reflections on the epistemic
resignification that results from the performances of such artists and conforms to the existence
of their trans-forming corporeality. The artists' cartography presented in this study is linked to
the cartography of myself, restructuring my poetic performances, expanding my knowledge and
strengthening the condition of researcher. The results obtained teach me that we still follow,
that the navigation to understand the aesthetic-gesture dimension of transsexual/transvestite
bodies is endless, since I learned from them that new aesthetic emergencies are still being built.
And this is the tone of cartography, processes, trajectories, paths, there is no end, there are
experiences.
