SUMMARY:

This research is part of the field of teacher training discussions and takes as its object of study
the "Political-Pedagogical Project and the continuing training of novice and experienced
teachers, linked to practice, from an anti-racist perspective". Its problem is: What elements
indicative of an anti-racist perspective are guided by the Political-Pedagogical Project and,
based on these, what principles comprise the continuing training of novice and experienced
teachers, which include teaching practices? As a general objective, it seeks to understand which
elements indicative of the anti-racist perspective are guided by the Political-Pedagogical
Project, and, based on this, which principles comprise the continuing education of novice and

experienced teachers, which contemplate teaching practices. To discuss the Political-
Pedagogical Project, we rely on Carreira and Souza (2013); Coelho, Regis and Silva (2021);

Gomes (2005); and Veiga (2006). Continuing education, in Coelho and Coelho (2012);
Damarzo, Santos and Silva (2018); Gomes (2005); and Santos (2010). For teaching practice,
we used Cavalleiro (2001); Coelho, Regis and Silva (2021); Gomes (2005); Prado and Fatima
(2016). Also to deal with novice teachers, we used André et al (2017); Cruz, Farias and Hobold
(2020); Gouveia (2020); Nascimento, Flores and Xavier (2019); Pacheco and Flores (1999);
Papi and Martins (2010). Regarding experienced teachers, André et al (2017); Ferreira et al
(2017); Marcelo (2009); Tancredi and Mizukami (2012). As a methodology, we used a
qualitative approach, with methodological procedures for producing the data: document
analysis, in Lüdke and André (2013); the questionnaire in Severino (2013); the discussion group
in Weller (2006) and Meinerz (2011); and the intervention sessions in Gouveia (2020) and Silva
(2021). To analyse the data, we used Content Analysis - focusing on categorization (Moraes,
1999). The results show that "in the documents (official, school and personal) of the network
and the school, the principles of continuing education that are close to an anti-racist perspective"
are absent from the network's curriculum, political-pedagogical projects, training agendas,
teacher planning and student activity books. As for the "meanings materialized in the continuing

education of teachers that interface with anti-racist education", they indicate the absence of anti-
racist continuing education, when they explain the challenges and absence of these themes in

the training contexts. And as for "contributions to the construction of training proposals based
on anti-racist principles, which can be included in the Political-Pedagogical Project and
materialized in continuing education and teaching practices", our reflections point out, based
on the discussion and intervention group sessions, that the data produced reveals potential
training procedures that mobilize interactions, meanings and singular senses, which are
potential for anti-racist education. As a result of these reflections, propositions were collectively
produced to underpin a policy of anti-racist teacher training in the network, to be transformed
into guidelines for anti-racist continuing training. The contributions are expressed in the need
for training-pedagogical support, didactic-pedagogical material, as well as the constitution of a
public policy of permanent anti-racist continuing training, based on the collective commitment
to anti-racist education, which empowers the black population in the municipal school system,
the locus of this research.
