SUMMARY:

The study presented here sought to analyze the process of transmission of musical knowledge related to the guitar in the context of the online music teaching platform Fica a Dica Premium from the perspective of students and moderators. With this general objective in mind, the following specific objectives were outlined: To understand how strategies, methodologies, techniques and teaching-learning practices are articulated in the Fica a Dica Premium Platform; To analyze how the contents related to the mastery of the instrument are approached in the Scales course; Investigate the musical experiences lived by student guitarists and moderators participating in the platform; Analyze what guitarist members and moderators say about knowledge, learning and teaching actions on the Fica a Dica Premium Platform. The empirical field in which the research was contextualized was the platform “Fica Dica Premium” directed and coordinated by guitar teacher Nelson Faria. The platform allows amateur and professional guitar students to learn through classes available on various topics related to the musical universe. For members, a community is offered on Telegram to be informed about the content posted on the platform, to interact with the teacher and other members and articulate various activities. To make the research viable, the methodology used was netnography, structured by Robert Kozinets (2014). As investigation methods were used participant observation, semi-structured interviews with two moderators and three members of the platform, questionnaire and field diary. For data analysis, the theoretical framework used comes from theories of ethnomusicology, music education and concepts related to digital/participatory culture: The transmission of musical knowledge, informal music learning and the digital/participatory culture enter into dialogue as a theoretical framework for data analysis. The results showed that FaDP members are immersed in musical practices experienced in a virtual community structured from pedagogical approaches that have informal learning as one of the perspectives, building and being built within the scope of digital/participatory culture. In addition, the identities of the members, consequently, their interactions are linked to the set of meanings that surround Bossa Nova, the predominant musical style on the platform, and the life trajectory of guitar teacher Nelson Faria in Brazilian popular music.
