SUMMARY:

The current work presents data and interpretations about the qualification provided by IFPE- Barreiros Campus to Vocational Musical Instrument Course graduates through their own perception, bringing information about their professional situation on the job market, verifying not only their insertion, but also, whether the competencies conferred on them meet the necessary profile to fulfil the local music job market demands. The research problem consists of verifying how the perception of professional vocational training is related to the possibilities of emplo- yability on the job market. In this regard, the present study aims to present data and information about the professional performance of Vocational Music Instrument Course graduates at IFPE- Barreiros Campus, aiming to identify from their responses and perceptions whether the objectives and purposes of EPT meet the needs of this work field. The research population comprised 26 Vocational Musical Instrument Course graduates at Barreiros Campus, whom graduated between the years 2015.2 and 2021, of which 23 submitted questionnaire responses. The research design is non-experimental and cross-sectional, in which data collection took place in the second half of 2022. Data collection was carried out through an online questionnaire via the Google Forms platform sent via email, created exclusively for this research with closed and open questions, which sought to obtain information regarding: sociodemographic data; professional training, professional activities; assessment of the training received and effective employability. The results of the analysis indicated that the training experiences at the institution are enriching, especially those linked to teaching and that can be defined as integrative practices and that the training offered in the Vocational Musical Instrument Course contributes to the graduates’ skills and competencies development that led them to a path of professional and personal growth with improved quality of life.
