THE CLUETRAIN MANIFESTO AND ITS CONTRIBUTION TO UNDERSTANDING THE IMPACTS OF THE INTERNET ON THE NETWORK SOCIETY
Network Society. Information Society. Manuel Castells. Cluetrain manifesto. Internet.
This report presents an ongoing research on the network society studied by Manuel Castells and the new aspects of the network evidenced by the Cluetrain Manifesto. People gathered in a network gained autonomy and freedom to express their experiences with companies and assumed power in commercial relationships. Networked people's conversations have come to represent the companies' markets. The conversations of networked workers have come to reveal the secrets that companies try to hide from their employees and their markets. The domain of the network was taken from the companies by the people and the Cluetrain Manifesto can complement Castells' vision of the beginning of the formation of the network with new aspects of the network that remain evolving and being observed by the manifesto. The objective of the research is to present the Cluetrain Manifesto as an expanded, contemporary theory that is constantly being updated as an object of study for Information Science, establishing a theoretical-conceptual approximation between the processes of information communication in the network society in Castells and in the manifest. The research methodology encompasses descriptive, bibliographic and documentary research. Data collection is bibliographic and documentary. Data analysis will be performed by interpretive analysis and the results will be presented in the dissertation work. It is expected as a result the identification of the complementarity of ideas about Castells' network society in the ideas being developed by the Cluetrain manifesto.
