Physics teaching. Gamification. Engagement. meaningful learning.
Classical Mechanics.
The lack of student engagement with school content is an issue that must be taken
into account by the teacher when preparing his class. The educational product
presented here presented a gamified proposal in an attempt to engage these students
in the process of learning mechanics concepts, as well as their everyday applications.
For this, it was a Quiz-type board game where first year high school students would
need a certain mastery of the content to make it possible to complete the game. The
proposal is based on gamification concepts in an attempt to make the learning process
an attractive game. Following that they approach the engagement of both ideas of the
educational day and daily tasks. The product is based on the need to confront the
knowledge already obtained through expository classes with the questions and
debates generated during a game. An implementation of face-to-face teaching form of
the medium product, where knowledge before and after implementation were
compared with students learning from the first series of qualitative studies data for
research. As a result, we observed satisfactory performance in debates during
gameplay.
