SUMMARY:

The research falls within the domains of Mathematics Education and Field Education, particularizing the documentary work of Mathematics teachers in the final years of Elementary School in field schools, to teach the concept of area of plane figures. We set out as a general objective to understand the documentary trajectory of teachers who work in field schools to teach the concept of area of flat figures. And as specific objectives: to identify events and resources used by teachers of the final years of elementary school in field schools in teaching the area of flat figures; build the documentary trajectories of mathematics teachers, based on the events and resources identified; validate the trajectories built with the teachers; and establish relations between the documentary trajectories of the teachers and the productive peasant activities of the place. The research data were collected with two teachers from field schools, based on the reflective investigation methodology within the framework of the Documentation Approach to Didactics. The resources and events we had access to, through the teachers' responses and the observations made, enabled us to build documentary trajectories on teaching the area of plane figures. Considering that the research was carried out in the Covid-19 pandemic period, we conjecture that the choices of the investigated teachers, in terms of resources and events, were influenced by the use of digital resources, at the same time that they may have limited the use of other resources, including those that are more characteristic of the field productive activities of the place. When analyzing the documentary trajectories that we built, with the purpose of reflection and validation, the teachers highlighted resources that were included in these trajectories and that they had not identified as such, although they used them in their classes. They also pointed out events and resources that they considered important and did not verbalize in their previous answers.
