SUMMARY:

Given the need to deepen Brazilian studies on online learning scenarios and student engagement, we start from the hypothesis that these new online learning scenarios created from the demand of the pandemic can promote engagement in higher education students, because these scenarios allow the combination of educational modalities, different narratives in classes, varied online learning spaces, technological insertion at different levels of teaching, development of content and skills and differentiated assessment. In addition, it has a generational impact on a new form of education, developed by the pandemic. Our overall objective is to analyze how the different online learning scenarios created by the Covid 19 pandemic contribute to promoting student engagement. Our specific objectives are: to map and classify online learning scenarios in Higher Education, created from the pandemic; identify, from the student's perspective, whether online learning scenarios are engaging and why; relate student engagement to online learning scenarios. The research method is divided into 03 steps: integrative review of online learning scenarios; multiple case studies in two higher education institutions with online learning scenarios in times of pandemic; classify and relate student engagement to learning actions in the aforementioned scenarios composed from the systematic review This research will contribute to understand whether there is a relationship between the proposed online learning scenario in higher education and the promotion of student engagement. For this, we work with the concept of learning scenarios in the educational context and their didactic actions developed throughout the process in the online classroom.
