Student Video Production in a Potentially Teaching Unit Significant:
innovative possibilities in language teaching and learning English.
Critical meaningful learning; EFL
When the content is exposed through an audiovisual tool, it adds a lot to the learner´s interest and, consequently, can be considered a potentially significant resource. This reasearch aims to present an analysis of the audiovisual production influence on Critical Meaningful Learning in English as a foreign language. The proposal of this paper is based on the participative research of a didactic intervention that will systematize the planning and production of short films by students of elementary school in a public school in Recife. It is assumed that the production of short films by students as a tool for the promotion of Critical Meaningful Learning will have a positive impact on the acquisition of the English language. Furthermore it should be an essential factor for the linguistic and socio-emotional improvement of the students involved in the research. It is expected that this research can contribute to the formulation of pedagogical actions that offer opportunities for the exchange of sociolinguistic experiences, which encourage the protagonism and the integral education of students. It is also hoped that the intervention can be reformulated and adapted to the reality experienced in the school environment.
