SUMMARY:

This work aims to contribute to the discussions surrounding the politicity of rap through a dialog with works on rap, pop music studies within the area of Communication, theses about aesthetics from the field of Philosophy, Dance Studies, as well as diverse texts about politics, performance, and the body. In this sense, this work deviates from a consensual perspective that consolidates a single way as the appropriate way of doing politics in rap. I perform this task by pointing the contradictions of this consensual way amid an ascension of neoliberal fascism, and by mapping the multiplicities of forms of doing politics in rap, each one with their own potentialities and limitations. It is central to this task a cartography of what I propose to call the choreopolitical regimes of rap, a concept which serves as a theoretical-methodological tool that articulates music, politics, aesthetics, body and dance.
