SUMMARY:

The present work consists of an investigation about children as consumers and as a product of consumption. The objective of the research is to analyze and understand whether parental control strategies are effective for the protection of children, since the problem addressed is how inappropriate content and abusive advertising are filtered correctly or not? The research has three parts: the first, Childhood: from capital to society, has as its starting point the invention of childhood in the face of a surveillance society; The second, Hybrid  dvertising and the digital child care market, market communication unfolds in control advertising, the very socialization of children at school acts as an instance in which an education outside digital societies becomes innocuous; The third, Parental control in digital social networks, the concept of literacy is problematized as a construction of
communication that transcends literacy, since the capture of children's data is increasingly subtle. As a methodological path, the starting point is the bibliographical research, having as a type of qualitative research, with netnographic analyzes of the documents of the platforms and privacy policies. The last methodological stage foreseen will be interviews with children aged 9-12 years and their parents, so that with this development there are possible and expected results of a more effective form of parental control.
