SUMMARY:

With the advent of technological evolution, there were numerous changes in the population's consumption habits, characterizing it as a contemporary society that makes purchases in an uncontrolled manner and produces waste in an increasingly shorter period of time. Thus, this study aims to develop a forecast model for the generation of electronic waste, monitoring the following items: split air conditioning, window air conditioning, DVD and Blu-ray, microwave and televisions, manufactured and sold in Brazil . For this, forecast models were applied based on time series consisting of 5-year data from each equipment. Obtaining the most suitable model for use was supported by the analysis of demand behavior, where the presence of trends and seasonality in the data was observed, enabling the use of the Holt-Winters method. That said, the predictions of the generation of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) were generated from the Multiplicative Holt-Winters method, which presented better performance in its results compared to the others, still, such projections were based on the useful life of the equipment under study. In this way, this research may enable an adequate planning, both through the manufacturers of electronic products, as well as the government, in relation to the waste management policy, taking into account the reverse logistics and also assisted collection points for carrying out the recycling of their components.
