SUMMARY:

Fashion industry is made up of variety, speed, dynamism and complexity. Currently, this type of industry works with the business model that focuses on supplying stores faster and more frequently. Consumption of clothes and shoes increase and the disposal of these products grows in the same proportion. Thousands of litters of water are used for the production of clothing. The use of water for the production of clothing and shoes is proportionally greater than the benefits that produce jobs and wages. In this scenario, this research aims to analyze the perception of consumers about the purchase and disposal of fast fashion clothes and shoes. The research used a qualitative approach, in which the researcher obtains information about phenomena according to the individuals of the view. In addition, the work can also be classified as quantitative since there was measurement of data and statistical studies. This work is of an applied nature, as there is a generation of knowledge for practical application. In addition to being exploratory because it analyzes the perspective that the phenomenon is being analyzed and its technical procedure is of the survey type. For data collection, a questionnaire with 56 questions was developed. The questionnaire was divided into seven parts in order to obtain customer perceptions on the purchase and disposal of products, in addition to the impact on the environment. The responses of 484 respondents were analyzed, and with that some statistical analysis were performed. Regarding the results, it was possible to notice that the participants who earn up to 4 minimum wages are those who have a certain preference for fast fashion stores/sites. With this, it generates an economic impact, as these consumers end up making the use of this service even more popular. Therefore, it is clear that knowing the degree of significance between the variables, it is possible to obtain the perception of the interviewees. Then, this perception can be related to the purchase and disposal of fast fashion products. Through the use of statistical techniques, it is noted that depending on the sociodemographic profile, many do not approve of the quick disposal of clothes and shoes. In addition, few people who carry out selective collection agree to pay more for social and environmental products. Another result is that generally those who conserve their clothes and shoes tend to carry out selective garbage collection. Those who don't do selective collection are influenced by the fashion industry. Therefore, it is noted that there is an environmental impact generated by these perceptions. Customers who conserve clothes and shoes reduce the disposal of these products. However, those who are influenced by fashion compromise the environment with the quick purchase and disposal of fast fashion products.
