SUMMARY:

Decision-making in organizational environments is a complex process, involving numerous variables, and is affected by various uncertainties. Therefore, the search for solutions that guide this process is vital for the solidity and long-term survival of financial organizations and trade associations, and it is necessary to apply decision support tools that support their activities. It is up to organizations to seek solutions that add value to their decision-making operations and direct the decision maker's efforts to a search for more decisive actions, link to strategic objectives, increase commitment, provide security, and makes the organization reflect on the consequences of these actions. In this sense, two case studies were carried out: the first study investigated the credit release decision process in a cooperative financial organization, and the second study examined the decision process in a Trade Association. For the first case study, two decision models have been proposed: Problem-structuring model for decision making in financial organization and Credit Granting Sorting Model for Financial Organizations. For the second case study, problem-structuring model for decision making in a Trade Association was proposed. In these case studies, it is evident that the lack of a structured decision process leads to an analysis aligned with the business's strategic objectives. Thus, this work proposes an integrated group decision model that links the structuring of the problem to the strategic organizational goals, to more clearly verify the uncertainties of the process, assist decision-makers in providing information, and allow a broad and linked systemic view to organizational goals. Therefore, this integrated model involves the problem structuring process, based on the Strategic Choice Approach (SCA), connecting with the corporate use of the Electre TRI-B multicriteria method. The contributions of this model are the systematization of the process, the reduction in decision-maker's uncertainty, preventing the emergence of informal groups, and external interference in the decision process.
