SUMMARY:

The study starts from the question: how cultural practices of Mestra Joana Cavalcante and Maracatu Baque Mulher contribute as informational sources to disseminate Afro-Brazilian culture? General objective analyzed as cultural practices of Joana Caval Baque Mulher and identified as disseminators of Afro information, context of expansion of memorial facts in the light of strengthening and visibility of female narratives. It proposes as specific objectives: to map the cultural practices and informational research of the Master and of the movement that disseminates Afro-Brazilian culture in Recife; to theorize these practices and analyze them as informational sources to safeguard the memory and identity of Afro-Brazilian cultural manifestations in Recife. The exposition as a report for qualification is first in eight chapters, the first being the introduction and the eighth as final considerations. Therefore, it investigates the cultural practices of Mestra Joana Cavalcante and Maracatu Baque Mulher, starting from a gender and race perspective, considering intersectionality. The second chapter describes the methodological procedures. The third chapter is entitled “Theoretical-conceptual framework of reference and conjunctural elements”. Also, it is part of this chapter describes the trajectory of Master Joana Cavalcante from the perspective of resistance, female protagonism, representation of black women and candomblecistas in Maracatu de Baque Virado, with the purpose of theoretically supporting the thesis. The fourth chapter, entitled "Maracatu Baque Mulher: disseminating memorialistic and identity facts of Afro-Brazilian culture in the light of women's cultural narratives and practices". The fifth chapter, entitled "Maracatu de Baque Virado: trajectory of maracatus in the Metropolitan Region of Recife-PE", specifically the Nação do Maracatu Encanto do Pina. The sixth chapter presents the analysis of data from the narratives of the interviews. The chapter chapter the schedule of research activities. Finally, concluding remarks. In addition to the chapters, the work contains appendices and annexes. It is worth mentioning that Appendix C presents the glossary prepared from the narratives collected in the interviews. The trajectory of Maraca Baque Mulher will consist of the two sides provided by Mestra Joana Cavalcante, representing women who are part of the Northeast Region and 31 women who are part of the affiliate groups of this women's empowerment movement, notable in the five regions of Brazil. It starts from the understanding that the women components of the movement are disseminators of information. It uses the Oral History of Life as a method for conducting interviews that can testify about the events, ways of life or other aspects of contemporary history in allusion to the object of study. It applies the technique of participant observation, by promoting research in an interaction perspective. Check the activation of women expressing cultural artistic, with a view to expanding women who intensify culture in Recife, a social that needs to be diverse and culturally not a horizon that points to Brazilian diversity, allowing for diversity
