Matriarch of the Unknown: thematic representation of the character Funesta
Gender studies. Funesta. Thematic representation of information. Conceptual maps.
It addresses the thematic representation of information and the feminine, where it seeks to investigate the representation of the character Funesta in the book A Rainha do Ignoto, written by Emília Freitas, from the terminological dynamics of concept maps, in parallel with the social perspective of women. In this sense, it aims to investigate Funesta's symbolic associations, her conceptual terminology, the feminine and her relationship with the representation of women in society. Therefore, the research is descriptive and exploratory, with a qualitative approach, by means of a bibliographical survey, documentary research, application of Lancaster's (2004) conceptual analysis method and Cervantes' (2014; 2015) for the creation of concept maps, where the terms are structured and contextualised. Finally, the results elucidate the value and cultural heritage contained in the character's terminology and the social representation of women, touching on issues of gender and information ethics underlying the terms and the field of Information and Knowledge Organisation and Representation.
