A CHECKLIST TO ANALYZE THE STEPS OF THE DATA LIFE CYCLE: The Compaz Ariano Suassuna case
Data Lifecycle. Checklist. Data Management. Results-Based Management.
Public or private institutions constantly need to make evidence-based decisions aligned with business objectives; however, the reality is that there are various ways in which data is handled, and many obstacles still need to be overcome. In this sense, the aim of this research is to develop a checklist with the stages and cross-cutting factors of a data lifecycle that best suits the context of Compaz Ariano Suassuna, both to support the data management of offered activities and the management of data necessary for monitoring the results-based management model recently adopted by the institution. Regarding the methodological procedures, this project uses the quadripolar method. The epistemological pole encompasses initial discussions until the delineation of objectives to achieve answers to the research problem. The theoretical pole discusses the entire theoretical framework on results-based management, data management, and data lifecycle. In turn, in the technical pole, the project is characterized from the standpoint of its nature as basic, and in relation to its objectives, it is descriptive. In terms of technical procedures, it is bibliographic and documentary. The case study method was also employed, and concerning the approach to the problem, this study is qualitative. The morphological pole consists of constructing results obtained through interviews, surveys, and analyses. The results indicate that the proposed checklist has eight stages, each with at least one transversal factor. It is incremental and continuous, based on stages present in other models already consolidated in the literature, in addition to stages recommended by the author of this work. It will meet the specific needs of the organizational context of Compaz Ariano Suassuna.
