Public transport is an essential urban equipment for social opportunities and is the main mean of transportation in Brazilian cities. However, the number of passengers has been decreasing year by year, while there has been a significant increase in the percentage of use of individual transport, mainly due to its poor quality and attractiveness. Furthermore, people with disabilities often have to face a physical, attitudinal and social environment that is very little inclusive, which restricts the urban mobility or even makes it impossible for them to move around cities, jeopardizing their access to social opportunities. In view of this, the research starts from the following question: how can Design contribute to the attractiveness and inclusion in the use of public transport? This study aims to identify Design's contributions in two approaches: (1) to motivate the user to use public transport and (2) to promote an environment of physical, attitudinal and social use that is attractive and inclusive. The hypothesis is that Social Design can be an effective approach to the research objective. Therefore, the methodological processes were planned based on the conceptual basis of the SID - Social Implication Design method. First, the research pursuits the understanding abourt what constitutes attractiveness and inclusion through narrative and systematic reviews of the literature and interviews with specialists, stakeholders and representatives of the rights of people with disabilities, thus analyzing theories and different points of view. From there, individual and collective demands or needs will be identified, so that Design directions and strategies can be determined, as well as their physical, attitudinal and social effects.
