In Brazil, the number of disabled people exceeds 45 million, more than 20% of the population. Among them, 10 million people have a problem related to deafness. For most of these people, the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) is the first and often the only language learned. In this context, written language is one of the most difficult barriers to web accessibility for this audience. Most web interfaces have been developed empirically, often without the knowledge or effective participation of the deaf user. Although some studies indicate alternatives, they are superficial and incipient recommendations from the point of view of evaluating experience. This thesis explored basic issues of interface design, with emphasis on the labeling component of information architecture, seeking to understand which resources provide a satisfactory and emotionally positive experience for the deaf person. For this, the elements that make up the user experience and how the labels of an interface are constructed were discussed. A mapping of recommendations and web design studies focused on the deaf person was carried out in order to elaborate different proposals for labeling systems. These proposals were evaluated by 40 deaf people from different profiles and regions of Brazil, using a bilingual form (Libras-Portuguese). The results showed that deaf people with different knowledge of the written language have different satisfactions and emotions for the same proposal. However, the importance of the visual resource is a common positive point for all deaf people, regardless of profile. This research used the inductive approach method and methods of bibliographic and comparative procedure.
