SUMMARY:

This research falls within the area of Ubiquitous User Interfaces (UUI), which is specifically related to propositions for Ubiquitous Computing. Due to the possibility of contributing to these two areas, this work intends to contribute directly to the field of Design, by proposing a model for the development of ubiquitous interfaces, considering the classroom environment as a field selected for the experiments. In this sense, in this thesis bibliographical reviews were carried out to define the theoretical foundations and its main methodological approach was action research, based on the role of designer-teacher, the result of a metadesign perspective as a structuring basis for the application of processes. The collection of data pertinent to the applications of action research was carried out in a time window of three consecutive years from 2020 to 2023, considering a total of six cycles applied and dealing with planning, implementation and collection of facts relevant to the development of the structure of the Ubiquitous Interface Design discipline in the bachelor's degree course in Design at a reference educational institution in the city of Recife-PE. Within the time frame, data were collected in three classes inserted in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and another three classes in the face-to-face context. As a result, it was possible to observe that factors such as collaboration between actors, awareness of interaction design knowledge, awareness of living spaces and recognition of potential for action, understanding of human beings' modalities and understanding of the nuances of interface categories, thinking focused to the process of physical and digital artifacts, define the development of ubiquitous interfaces.
