SUMMARY:

This project addresses the crucial role of creativity and innovation in the evolution of design throughout history, highlighting its impact on the development of artifacts that mediate the relationship between humans, nature, and society. With population growth, urbanization, industrialization, and advancements in materials, there is a growing demand for complex and efficient design solutions. The advent of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers architects the opportunity to enhance the creative process, enabling the exploration of deeper and more personalized ideas. The research focuses on investigating the generative AI's ability to translate the essence of places and people into innovative concepts while exploring the balance between human intelligence and AI in the creative process. Preliminary results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of generative AI in co-creating architectural projects. Objectives include reviewing existing literature on the use of generative AI, conducting practical experiments with architecture students at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), evaluating the quality of generated concepts, investigating participants' perceptions of AI-human collaboration, and providing recommendations for the effective integration of generative AI in architecture. The research highlights generative AI as a complementary tool to architects' creativity and expertise, driving the development of more inspiring and
individualized projects.
