Previous research indicates that most Local Production Arrangements (APLs), including the Pernambuco Confections APL, have limited knowledge about tools, methodologies and quality programs in their production processes, where the shirting segment is located. It is assumed, then, that studies in the field of wearability have the potential to collaborate with the qualification of fashion clothing products, given the interaction between the configuration of the clothing and the characteristics of the users, allowing the inspection of metrics and the evaluation of components – effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction. In fact, this research sought to answer “What are the wearability statistics for men's shirts and how can these be evaluated in user tests during the prototyping of the garment?”. The results obtained made it possible to identify wearability statistics, highlighting the aesthetic function (effectiveness), the performance of the garment during the execution of upper body movements (efficiency) and thermal and physical comfort (satisfaction) during use. This is particularly relevant, as all detailed analyzes can be evaluated during wearability tests in a real context of use, or make it possible to verify the performance of the shirt, in addition to user satisfaction. Thus, the importance of the study for the area of design and ergonomics in clothing is highlighted, by inserting systematized procedures for evaluating wearability in the design activity and its implications for the quality of the product to meet the needs of the public consumer.
