PLASTIFICATE TO DEPLASTIFY: Generation of molds made with additive manufacturing for injection of recycled high-density polyethylene
Additive Manufacturing; Recycled HDPE; Parametric Modeling; Teaching Models
The research work presented below is the evolution of my Course Completion Work (TCC), a project that sought to manufacture a didactic model called Geommynoes, with the help of Additive Manufacturing, but which, due to situations resulting from the pandemic event, did not can be completed. Coordinating Additive Manufacturing to contribute to the development of didactic models from recycled material, specifically HDPE, is an exploration that has not yet been worked on. To this end, the present research project intends to find a formula to be developed in this neglected area. When talking about using AM to teach subject contents, most studies are oriented towards using it as an aid within the so-called STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) education, and forget about other subjects that do not have the exact area. In addition to the project, parametric modeling is presented, which does nothing more than simplify the steps of improving the prototyping of the project, reducing creation time and optimizing the digital modeling process.
