A conscious and programmed art: Sérvulo Esmeraldo's graphic production as a matter of memory and history of national design

The project aims to research the graphic production carried out by the artist from Ceará Sérvulo Esmeraldo, which covers the universes of illustration, engraving and editorial design throughout the 1950s to the 2000s. It is an exploratory research related to the field of history of Brazilian design and graphic memory, which will feature a documentary investigation involving two important collections of the artist: the Institute of Contemporary Art of São Paulo - IAC|SP and the Instituto Sérvulo Esmeraldo - ISE|CE. In the end, it is expected to highlight Sérvulo Esmeraldo as a representative of modern and contemporary design in Brazil, as well as an agent of a possible Graphic Memory from Ceará.
