SUMMARY:

Due to the premises that define the carnival as a public and a collective festival, offers a special place to investigate significative social conflicts and the apparel artefacts step in as elements demonstratives of social and cultural spheres, many times as users ideology indicators, this subject analyzed the fantasies and adornments belonging to Blocos Líricos, verifying how much these communicate the same language of social distinction present at the material culture and the reasoning of Blocos Carnavalescos Mistos at twenties (and antecessors) in the context of street Carnival of Recife. Through the literature review utilizing the major work with historical and anthropologic inclinations besides this theme and material accessible at social media of the refered clubs of this research, the present work while qualitative study grounded on the vision of the Theory of Social Representations of Moscovic and applied as a serie with the Content Analysis of Bardin, leaded the social phenomenon comprehension based on the point of view of the subjects involved and implicated in this situation. Contributing to a bigger understanding about the material culture of the refered clubs at the street Carnival of Recife and thereafter increasing the understanding of the adornments that compose the frevo’s visual expression.
