Carola Saavedra novelist-essayist? The expansion of the novel and the reflection on the literary
How to define a novel that proposes, in its layers, to reflect the very process of literary creation? How to define an essay that fictionalizes to present a point of view? To what extent is the novel essayistic or to what extent is the essay fictional? This dissertation aims to analyze the essayistic perspective of the first four novels by the writer Carola Saavedra and to think, from that, the possibilities of the literary, the novel and the essay within a synchronic framework, in which novel is a reflection of the historical context in which they are published - the ensaification of everything -, but also within a diachronic vision, in which the novels are inserted in an experimental Cervantine tradition. Here we prove the hypothesis that Carola Saavedra's novels are essayists by nature and launch themselves into the unknown future as timeless.
