SUMMARY:

Studies on app delivery workers have been increasing over the years, especially regarding the
precarization of labor. With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, as they deal daily with various individuals and consequently face greater risks, these workers decided and managed to mobilize large national collectives – both in the streets and on social media – in search of better working conditions through demonstrations, strikes, and popular support, raising awareness about the labor losses suffered by the category, through the discontinuation of the applications at certain times. The focus of this work stems from the following question: Does the escalation of social and psychological strain on these workers contribute to seeking connections with the perspective of improving their own working conditions? To conduct the research, we chose a qualitative approach with a Marxist framework, focusing on studies of the new morphology of work, Psychodynamics of Work, sociology of suffering, the history of workers' struggle in Espírito Santo, and the new movements of workers' organization seeking improvements beyond interviews with the workers. The aim was to understand the daily life, the individual's relationships with work and their psyche, and the flourishing through organization and collective struggle. The results revealed an understanding among delivery
workers of the need to improve working conditions; the existence of organization among
motorcycle couriers to enhance daily work life and, consequently, defensive strategies against
suffering; however, there is also resistance among delivery workers to the CLT
(Consolidation of Labor Laws), to regulation, as they see themselves as flexible and without a
boss.
