SUMMARY:

The composition of composite resins is associated with their mechanical properties of
fracture resistance, which are allowed in natural and restored teeth, in order to provide
resistance to chewing forces, without remaining fractures or fractures of the restoration.
In this context, evidence-based protocols have been proposed by dental surgeons for the
treatment of deep carious lesions, as new alternatives for direct restorations, mainly for
posterior teeth. Thus, fiberglass-reinforced restorations avoid the risk of remaining
fractures, infiltrations and the emergence of secondary caries and the need for more
complex and higher-cost treatments. This in vitro research will be carried out to evaluate
the differences between the conventional restored technique, which uses only bulkfill
composite resins, in comparison to the technique that associates the evaluated bulkfill
resin with glass fibers, in terms of properties. The properties evaluated will be: fracture
resistance, evaluation of formation of microgaps in specimens (class II restorations of
third molar teeth) and microhardness of bulk fill composites.
