SUMMARY:

With the advent of urbanization, some obstacles and problems also emerged in the city. From this, the concept of smart cities was born, which aims to use technological innovations to improve the quality of life of citizens and solve these problems. This concept of city began to refer to all efforts to improve the management of cities, facilitate people's access to services, manage the use of resources and improve people's quality of life through physical development tools and technological innovations that make the use of data to manage monitoring and control systems and which, ultimately, will provide ways to make decisions with better accuracy. The general objective of this dissertation is to analyze how technological innovation, as a smart solution, contributes to the development of smart urban mobility in the Recife neighborhood. Using a qualitative approach with a case study carried out in the Recife neighborhood, data collection was carried out based on interviews with actors responsible for making the Recife neighborhood a smarter place, non-participant observation and documentary research. Therefore, the Recife neighborhood can be seen as a potential space for a living lab. The space is under development to make the city smarter and with smart citizens to contribute to the practices of innovations and technologies for smart mobility.
