ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTION: CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALITY OF LIFE

Objective: To evaluate the presence of erectile dysfunction in patients undergoing PCI and its association with clinical variables and QoL. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with prospective, analytical and multicenter recruitment, carried out between January 2017 and December 2018, with 517 individuals. The study included all patients who had CAD and underwent cardiac catheterization. Results: Of the 517 patients, 50.1% had moderate / severe ED and an association with SAH (p 0.005) and DM (p 0.002). With regard to QOL, moderate / severe ED was associated with worse results in functional capacity, general health, vitality, physical, emotional and mental health (p 0.001) and social aspects (p 0.003). Conclusion: There was a higher occurrence of moderate / severe ED that was associated with SAH and DM and worse results in the individuals' general QoL.
