SUMMARY:

In the midst of the rise of mobile technologies, we must find innovative pedagogical practices that dialogue with the present time, breaking the dominance of traditional writing in the construction and transmission of knowledge. It is noticeable that the technology is more and more present in our daily life, so a data collection was made with the students of the 2°years of high of the Immaculate Heart of Mary School, where the main question was: Which problems are caused by the repeated cases of flooding around the city of Olinda? From the recognition of the contexts of the reality of the school community and the approaches observed and reported by students as a result of flooding, we highlight the diseases transmitted in aquatic environments such as: Leptospirosis, schistosomiasis and others. Promoting not only environmental awareness for environmental conservation and collective health, but also contributing to the creation of community-related identity bonds. The idea of creating an online application to be used on smartphones and tablets in order to report, inform, locate and prevent the transmissibility of infections. In the production of the mobile app was used the thunkable app, developed by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), which uses command`s block to codar (code creation act), was also used the fire base of Google, where they provide a free database with the partnership of thunkable. The work was shaped into a research-action divided into four stages: 1. Explorative (identification of the main sites of flooding), 2. Research (acquisition of scientific concepts), 3. Action (elaboration of the app), 4. Qualification (aims to validate the product) the product was validated by the entire school community. It is expected that the technological resource contributes significantly in changing environmental habits and teaching-learning, providing a change in the attitude of the school community towards the Environment, Basic Sanitation, Collective Health. The prototype of the digital educational product being produced will be of great scope as it will be available on platforms to be downloaded for free. In the future improvements can be made with the intention of inserting other functionalities that reflect even more in health education actions.
