SUMMARY:

 The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of continuing education on the teacher's trajectory for their engagement. We chose 2008 as the starting point of the study, the period in which the continuing education of Mathematics teachers began, named Itinerant and in loco, from the Regional Management of the Sertão do Alto Pajeú, the current Continuing Education Unit. In addition to written sources such as documents, oral reports of ten teachers who participated/participate in these experiences were used. The narratives constituted from interviews with each research participant took place according to the theoretical contribution of the Oral History methodology. The analysis was conducted by convergence categories and showed that the engagement of teachers in the experience of continuing education, over the 14 years, and changes in state and local political frameworks strongly marked the process of training teachers in the central region of this state. This research is linked to the project that seeks to constitute a map of "mobilization" of teacher training in the Sertão do Alto Pajeú, its conceptions and engagements developed by the experience of continuing education of Mathematics teachers of the Regional Management of the Sertão do Alto Pajeú. The fabric of this narrative and the record of the teachers' memories and experiences inaugurate a "place of memory" about a scenario of teacher engagement in continuing education in the itinerant or in loco model, which can be taken as evidence, to think about teacher training in the field. Brazil and, in particular, in the state of Pernambuco.
