SUMMARY:

This paper has aimed at analysing video lessons on the YouTube Edu platform about
second-degree equations. As a whole, it’s centered on the analyses of mathematics
praxeologies, didactic praxeologies, ostensive and non ostensive objects in the video
lessons of the second-degree equations object. To make the praxeologic analyses, we
anchor the current study in the Anthropological Theory of the Didactics, built by Yves
Chevallard. It is a research on the quality nature, of documental kind. We have chosen
video lessons about second-degree equations on the YouTube Edu platform as the
subject of our research. Two Mathematics channels of the platform have been analysed:
Ferreto Matemática and Prof. Dr. Leo Akio. The methodology implementation provided
the identification of types of tasks, the techniques, the technologies that justify those
techniques, as well as the didactic moments and the ostensive and non ostensive objects
in the video lessons that surrounds the object of the second-degree equations in those
channels. The main results have shown that the Mathematics praxeology of video
lessons, there was a privilegie of a technique to solve the equations. Concerning
didactic praxeology, the video lessons have shown differences according to the six
moments of Chevallard study (1999) and the ostensible objects highlighted in the video
lessons were also diferente. Our paper points out that, despite the difference of views in
the analysed channels, we didn’t identify any difference in the práxis of the YouYube
teachers, nevertheless, the channel that uses the most professional editing technology
is more accessed by users and that seems to be fundamental for those choices.
