SUMMARY:

Mathematics has its history rooted in the African continent and several studies point to the importance of the African continent in the development of this science. Therefore, mathematics can be considered a rich field for approaching the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER). ERER's milestones were the sanction of federal laws 10,639/2003 and 11,645/2008. However, even after all these years, ERER still goes through several setbacks, one of which is teacher training. It is understood that it is essential that the initial training curriculum for mathematics teachers presents a theoretical and methodological framework so that these professionals are able to act from an anti-racist perspective. Thus, the aforementioned research project intends to analyze the prescribed curricula of mathematics degrees offered in the States of Pernambuco and Paraíba from the perspective of ERER. The choice of these states is justified because both Pernambuco (PE) and Paraíba (PB) have strong connections with Afro-Brazilian culture. To this end, Higher Education Institutions that offer a mathematics degree course in the aforementioned states will be sought and, subsequently, their curricula will be analyzed from an anti-racist perspective.
