SUMMARY:

The present work has as general objective to investigate the perception of
Mathematics teachers of a school on the perspective of an education
anti-racist mathematics articulated by Law 10.639/2003. Specific objectives focus on
in: to analyze the understandings of mathematics teachers about Law 10.639/2003 and the
education of ethnic-racial relations and investigate the teachers' conception of
mathematics about mathematics and its teaching considering a perspective of
education of ethnic-racial relations. The methodological procedures that outline the
present study are based on the parameters of exploratory and field research,
with descriptive analysis, the research is divided into two stages. To reach the first
At this stage, a bibliographical research was used, which will base the study, analysis and
exposition of related aspects, which includes the referred law and the curricular guidelines of the
Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations. The second stage refers to: interview conducted
with (2) two elementary school Mathematics teachers II, for data collection,
semi-structured interviews were used, which happened through the tool of
Google Meet videoconference, using a recording object to record the
information, after the elucidation made by the researcher with presentation of concepts
addressed in the script. In the interview, aspects about the knowledge of the
teachers about Law 10639/2003 and the teaching of Mathematics. It is evidenced with
the results of the study that teachers often seek to work with
questions that are related to the reality of students and their daily lives,
using the most varied forms and diverse resources and tools, however, it is still
present in schools curricula that aim at quantity and not quality, which ends up
complicating the work of teachers. Concluding the acuity that education has to
regarding the formation of subjects for the exercise of citizenship, the inclusion of the theme
in schools, supports society in combating discriminatory practices, as we know
that it is through education that there is social change. Law 10.639/2003 made
the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture is mandatory, with the aim of
require the fight against racism and the development of positive representations about
of the theme.
