Long-distance optical networks have been experiencing a rapid growth in bandwidth demands in the last two decades with the advent of several technologies such as: audio and video streaming, cloud computing, among others. Because of this, elastic optical networks (EONs) are widely regarded as the next generation of optical transport networks for their ability to accommodate more traffic in a more efficient manner. In this context, this research work seeks to contribute to the development of this technology by proposing strategies to allocate resources in order to increase its performance in terms of blocking probability, especially with regard to the optimization of quality of transmission through power allocation. and spectrum usage. For this purpose, some resource allocation strategies are proposed and investigated in order to find a scheme that provides a better compromise between the aforementioned variables and that can contribute to the evolution of technologies related to EONs.
