RECONFIGURABLE SPDT SWITCH WITH RESONATORS OPEN MESH COUPLINGS FOR THE UHF BAND AND INTEGRATION WITH OTHER DEVICES OF MICROWAVE
SPDT Switch, Microwave Devices. Coupling resonators. Reconfiguration.
This qualify proposes a reconfigurable SPDT (Single-Pole-Double-Throw) switch and its integration with other devices, a phase shifter and an antenna array, using microstrip technology. The switch has three accesses, being formed by the junction of two SPST (Single-Pole-Single-Throw) filters, designed in open-loop square resonators,
coupled, and which are usually used in narrow bandpass filters. In the first stage, the design and construction of a SPDT switch to operate at frequencies of 459.95 MHz and 469.95 MHz are presented. PIN diodes are used as switching elements of the switch and their characterization is done through TRL calibration standards. Simulation results are presented for the resettable SPDT switch, showing isolation better than -39 dB and maximum insertion loss of -1,4 dB. The second part of the thesis consists of measuring the prototype of the switch and its integration with a phase shifter and an antenna array. In this document a brief methodology is presented on how the system will be designed. The author carried out a prior art search with several tools in several national and international
libraries and there is no such device in the literature.
