AUTOMATIC RECONFIGURATION OF DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS CONSIDERING RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY USING PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION.
Daily Reconfiguration of distribution networks, Distributed generation, PSO, Generation curtailment.
The problem of reconfiguration of electrical energy distribution systems consists of finding a radial configuration by permutating the state of the switches (opening or closing) of the branches of an electrical system, allowing to reduce losses, balance loads in the feeders, improve quality indicators and increase the penetration of renewable energy sources. Through the concept of smart grids, which provide real-time monitoring of the state of the grid and massive automation of equipment present in the grid, reconfiguration becomes a powerful active tool in managing the operation of electrical distribution grids. Therefore, this work proposes the development of a methodology for the management of distribution networks through the hourly reconfiguration of the distribution network in the presence of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, in order to find an optimal configuration that reduce daily losses and reduce renewable generation cuts. Variation in demand as well as fluctuation of renewable generation are taken into account.
