SUMMARY:

This study sought to investigate whether the books selected by the PNLD 2018 bring
activities based on problem solving and what are the contributions and limitations of
this resource for the insertion of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in the teaching of
Chemistry in State Public Schools in the city of Bonito- FOOT. Thus, this research
has a qualitative approach, being characterized as a descriptive research, since we
seek to describe how Problem-Based Learning has been approached in textbooks
from a bibliographic research. For initial data collection, an analysis of the 2018
Didactic Book Guide was carried out, in order to verify which approaches are present
in the books presented in it, then the analysis of the books selected by the schools
was carried out with the objective of analyzing the presence or not , contributions or
limitations to the use of the BPA from that resource. Data were analyzed qualitatively
and in accordance with the concepts of content analysis described by Bardin. During
the analysis of results, we found that of the six collections present in the Didactic
Book Guide - 2018, only three (CQ2, CQ3 and CQ6) brought approaches aimed at
the insertion of PBL. Regarding the collections selected by the schools of Bonito-PE
(CQ1 and CQ5), we observed that even not bringing aspects of the PBL in their
syntheses in the Guide, it was possible to verify problems that could be used in the
insertion of the PBL. The results indicate the need for textbooks that favor the
insertion of PBL through problems and methodologies that promote the student
protagonist of learning, as well as specific guidelines on application procedures.
