SUMMARY:

In order to corroborate the reflections on teacher training, we carried out this research whose general objective is to analyze the potential for teaching argumentation and developing the capacity for argumentative pedagogical design of a course designed for teacher training. And as specific objectives, develop an argumentation course aimed at developing argumentative skills and argumentative pedagogical design capabilities; and describe and analyze the process of preparing the course, identifying the objectives of each part of the course in building a path for training teachers capable of working with argumentation in education. To this end, it was necessary for us to deepen our knowledge about Argumentation as a possibility of a pedagogical strategy, as well as the concepts of Pedagogical Design Capacity (PDC) and Pedagogical Design Capacity in Argumentation (PDCA), given that we propose to think about a course that included the understanding of such concepts and the development of these skills. Our methodological path was mainly based on the search for research that would provide us with a theoretical basis to better understand the design possibilities that our course could take, however, we believe that these served much more to support us in its theoretical structure than in relation to to the format of the course itself. This is because practically no works were found with the proposal we formulated. To progress and achieve our journey, we were required to undertake a reflective and creative process, in which we had to think about each module and stage to be worked on in the course, and the reason for each one of them. In other words, when developing a course whose objective is to collaborate in fostering the argumentative pedagogical design capacity of teachers, it was essential that we develop our own skills in designing a pedagogical strategy.
